The International Somali Awards celebrates outstanding achievements across various categories, recognising the incredible contributions made within the community to promote growth and progress. See our categories below and what each category means to us.
- Sports Person of the Year
Sports Person of the Year will recognise an athlete or team whose performance that year most embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and achievement. We are looking for an athlete or team that has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and can inspire others.
- The Arts and Entertainment award
The Arts and Entertainment award will honour and celebrate the creative people from around the world whose work drives us to want to play, watch, and listen to entertainment. You can nominate a singer, artist, filmmaker, film, comedian, spoken word, dance, museums, performance arts, virtual arts and other forms of entertainment.
- Innovative Award
The Innovation Award will recognise organisations, individuals, businesses, or initiatives that came up with innovative or inventive approaches or solutions as we navigate a complex and changing external environment.
- Outstanding Contribution to Community
The Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award will recognise individuals or organisations that have made a significant impact on the community. We are looking for individuals or organisations that have demonstrated tangible achievement, passion, and dedication to making a positive impact on others.
- The Peace Award
The Peace Award will honour individuals and organisations in various fields that have made outstanding contributions towards realising a peaceful world. We will select them not only for their past achievements but also for their ongoing contributions to building peace.
- The Environmental Award
The Environmental Awards is to recognise individuals, organisations, and companies who have demonstrated achievements in protecting and enhancing Horn of Africa’s environment.
